The Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico

While my wife and I decided to head out West we went directly through New Mexico. It was probably one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. The colors and things are so unnatural compared to what I am used to. The buildings are very different. Like in pictures, a lot of homes have the reddish appearance to them, with clay materials being used and such. The ground is clearly hard, dry, and desert appearing. However, in its own way it has a majestic and beautiful appearance to it unlike any other place in the United States.

My wife and I quickly made the decision to spend a couple of days in New Mexico. Our original plan was to drive straight through over to Las Vegas. But we quickly opted that it was a place that probably had some things to and made the phone call and found a vacation rental home that was immediately available for us.

Our vacation rental home just so happened to be nearby to the Carlsbad Caverns. Let me tell you, if you have never been inside of a cave, you should definitely do it at least once. The Carlsbad caverns were quite spectacular. It takes a while to get down to the inside of it, and once inside, you would think you were on the moon or something. The appearance is eerie but peaceful in its own way. As you walk through, you will find a hole where people are allowed to throw pennies. It is deep enough that it can take several seconds before you can ever hear it hit the bottom. It was a lot of fun, and highly recommended!

Vacation Homes for Small Sized Personal Events

Okay, I am not going to lie, I am slightly nerdy. Even though I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, I don’t write on a blog for my health. I actually also have a tech and geek side to me that enjoys video games and interacting with others online. I have spent countless hours in chat rooms, playing video games, on forums, and just generally talking to people about topics that I enjoy speaking about. For this reason, I created this blog to talk about my experience vacation rental homes and the memories that I am so fond of.

However, about a year ago a community that I am a part of decided that we should meet up. Most of us had never seen each other face to face although have we spent the better part of two or three years talking to each other everyday through the virtual connection that is known as the internet. We ended up finding a good central location in Kansas City.

Kansas City was a blast! Again, I made the recommendation of a vacation rental home. We got out and went to some sports events (trust me, tickets to the Royals are cheap right now!). We also spent a lot of time just hanging out and drinking together in our Missouri vacation rental home. It was a ton of fun and even our wives who aren’t really a part of our community enjoyed the time they spent together as they did a lot of shopping. Probably too much shopping by my standards!

Good Way to Personally Interact with Employees

The problem with a lot of places of employment is that you are nothing more than a number. You have a number no your timesheet, a number that signifies your benefits, and maybe even a number on your employee identification badge. This is a sad situation and it is a good reason why there is no loyalty among employees and their employers.

If you really want to change this cycle, I would encourage you to go outside of the box a little bit. I heard from a good friend of mine that his employer if they made a certain amount of sales each year would take them up to his Alaskan vacation home. They would spend a week up there just hanging out, fishing, and drinking plenty of beer.

Why don’t other employers do this? What better way to really get to know your employees than to spend time outside of work with them? Perhaps this idea would not work if you had a slew of female employee’s and you are male. But you can even invite their spouses to come along to relieve the tension of the idea. Getting a vacation rental home is a great way to truly get to know your employees. You can build a trust and communication avenue that is almost unachievable by only keeping a corporate relationship. I understand other people’s views on this are differently. I have actually heard other managers say that it is best to not make friends out of your employees. However, I disagree entirely and on every level. When you make friends with employees, invite them to a vacation rental home, they will be much more inclined to work hard for you and ensure that you look good in the end as well!
